​Who We Are

​​Jo Ann Firestone
​is a business woman and entrepreneur. ​Since  late 2015 she has been sole creative director and producer of Couch Stories - and co-host, She's assisted by a few good friends and supporters.   

Ro Cambridge
​is a magazine editor, writer, arts worker and columnist for the Nelson Mail. In late 2015, Ro stepped down from directing and producing but has continued to
​co-host the shows.

​Some History

​Ro Cambridge and Jo Ann Firestone launched Couch Stories in 2012.

They were inspired by a shared love of a U.S. storytelling show and podcast called The Moth. Couch Stories is their indigenous version. 

Following the sell-out first show at the Suter Theatre ​in March 2012, they were invited to create and produce a Couch Stories show for the October 2012 Nelson Arts Festival .

Since then, Couch Stories has been a yearly fixture at the Arts Festival. Additionally, a second yearly show is developed and presented mid-year in various Nelson venues.
