Couch Stories 4 at the 2013 Nelson Arts Festival
23 Oct at 7.30pm at the Granary Festival Cafe, Founders Park

Theme of the Night: Stranger in a Strange Land

Picture
The 4th Couch Stories show featured storytellers from England, South Africa, Iran, Italy,Ireland, and Canada as well as the North and South Islands of New Zealand.

They told stories about culture clashes and misunderstandings, linguistic strangeness, loneliness and risks taken in strange places, dislocation and chasing dreams. We even had stories about feeling a stranger in the country of your birth.

Here's what Judith Ritchie, reviewer for The Nelson Mail said about the show ...

" The fourth presentation of Couch Stories in Nelson was as entertaining as ever, with stories being told by ten new faces telling as many diverse stories. Introduced by the creators of the show, Ro Cambridge and Jo Ann Firestone, the show flowed seamlessly ... ... A fabulous night out, and some of us even got to relax on a real couch while listening to stories, just like being at home.
